'Unofficial Curfew' and Warzone in Bangalore!!

Wednesday, 12th April 2006, post-lunch, saw the collapse of a major icon of all of us kannadigas, Dr. Rajkumar...He passed away due to cardiac arrest and my due respects to him and his family! Let his soul RIP...
But, Bangalore witnessed activities that had never before happened and that nobody imagined in their wildest dreams...violence, violence and more violence...
Hearing news about the death of this icon, some unruly mob started to throw stones to vehicles, irrespective of police or other govt or even personal vehicles...nothing was spared...some even went to the extent of putting the vehicle on fire!! Hearing these things, everybody of us left office that evening, in our company transport (lot of people left their personal vehicle here and boarded the bus!)..And u know the front glass (windshield) of every other bus/cab was pasted with a photo of Dr. Rajkumar! This was just to avoid people pelting stones at the vehicles!!! This was a awesome crazy thing happening ....
On Thursday, 13th April 2006, Bangalore came to a halt, a virtual shut-down, an Unofficial Curfew in some areas where all shops, all hotels were closed down, either due to threat or due to 'self-motivation'! All IT companies in Bangalore declared holiday and this came as a very big surprise to one and all...seriously 'coz IT comps donot easily shut shop like this but 2day, they had to...:)
The whole day witnessed lot of violence...lot of vehicles, especially police ones being the target...they set it on fire...they, the unruly, anti-social elements of this society, coz of whom Bangalore, Karnataka got a big black mark, set many buses on fire...hurt lot of innocent people...
All in all, the scene was real pathetic and horrifying!
I was really moved by the plight of one of the Raj's son, Raghavendra Rajkumar, where he stood on the vehicle that carried his father's body to the Kanteerava Studio, the final resting place of the icon. The crowd over there did not allow the van to be moved further into the studios thereby blocking them from carrying the body to the burial place and also by not giving way for the wife of Dr. Raj to get a glimpse of her husband, for the last time!
One good caption I saw in a Hindi news channel is 'Ye Kaisi Vidaayi?'...seriously, this was not a vidaayi...it was a warzone...a bloody hell...
Shame on these guys coz of whom
1. Bangalore got a big black mark
2. Dr.Raj's family could not bury the great icon with due respects by fulfulling all religious activities...this vl definitely haunt the family forever...
Finally, great of this legend to donate his eyes...for living upto his words!! His eyes are now helping TWO blind persons to see this beautiful world...
Last glimpse of this legend....

They should convert his talk about donating eyes in an advertisement to be replayed every now and then, else people will just forget about it.

Anyway Pradeep I spoke to you the other day, I dont think you'll remember. I was searching for your site recently and found it through google but in the 2nd or 3rd page.

I'll shortly make a writeup and post a link to your site on my blog, so your google ranking should hopefully move up ;)

I see you have several links, which of the links would you like me to post? (Pls copy your answer in an email to me as well)
