A company called SEMCO!

From last 2 days, am reading a book called 'MAVERICK: The Success Story Behind the World's Most Unusual Workplace' written by a guy called Mr. Ricardo Semler. This book talks about a company in Brazil, South America, called SEMCO (Short form for Semler and Company!). Hmmm...got the link between the author and the book?? No?...Yes?...Got it?... Ok..i will give it...Ricardo Semler is the CEO of this company SEMCO, which was setup by his father, Mr.Antonio Semler!! As the company website says..."Since it’s founding in 1963 as a sheet metal fabrication company with five employees, SEMCO has built a reputation as a world-wide product innovator in the science of air movement, noise abatement, and air quality, with more than 300 employees and more than 300 manufacturer’s representatives." As the name of the book suggests, this company is totally off-the-track among the other companies in the world! What i mean is that, in this company...there is no fixed work-time, employees set their own working hours, days...even their salaries !!!! {most amazing part! :)} There is no rules, no policies followed in this company...and lots more {crazy stuff like this!}...But i personally admire this man and his company for being off-the-beat company in the world! BTW, Can u guess their turnover?? Started off with 2M$, kudos to his (late) father, this man, after taking over the company in 1984, implemented the above said changes and now, as per the latest available figures, in 2004, the revenues were, guess, nearing 200M$ !!!!!!!! 2 cool right?!!? :) hmmm...someday want 2 work (want 2 establish??) with this kind of company...amazing culture...vl b a gud experience! :)
