Fall of million people's dreams!

Cricket - The one word that gets huge huge attention in any part of India; Dream, Craze, Madness of millions of people in India and some abroad! But everything got shattered on Friday evening when the 'Blue Boyz' - Team India lost to Sri Lanka team to exit out of the World Cup :-(( Who knows, May be they felt bored of traveling alone to India later and hence wanted company of Pakistan team (as they were already out of World Cup on Sunday!) to travel with them!! :-)))))

In fact, long ago and so so long ago, I WAS an ardent fan of our local cricket and International too. But as Cricket, especially our India team started playing this Gentleman's game more for Commercial purpose than for sporty purpose, my interest in this superb game came down heavily. Even in my friends Circle and in my office (my colleagues), I am the only person who does not follow much of this game! I have always been telling that our blue boyz just want to make money, more from the Commercial Advertisements than from the main purpose - Cricket game; and yet another time, my instincts proved me right!! :-)

One of the main reason why our Blue Boyz have got into so much limelight and so much arrogancy is because of our local Media too! Yeah, media - Television, Newspaper, Magazines...wherever you see, they put a big photo of these great punters and if they score half-century once in a blue moon, their photo comes to the main page with the title - 'Great Comeback!', 'In Full Form',blah-blah...what a crap this is!! If they are real heroes, their should be consistency in what they sport and not like a gift! :-)

Look at the International team of Australia, South Africa, West Indies - Amazing players with amazing capabilities and consistent performances! This is what is required to play this Gentleman's game and this is what is expected out of our blue boys from every person of this country and not a ramp walk or biscuit ad or recommending pesticides! :-D

Anyways, what has happened has happened! Its now high-time to seriously bring these people to ordinary level/status and tell them that if you win these many matches and if you perform well, you are paid else you are fired!! Think there is a super need to a good leadership person who can motivate and lead the team well without any major frictions and also there is a need for a good INDIAN COACH who understands our Indian mentality; not a Videshi fellow whose ideas always clashes with us!! :-))

Am just hoping that this hit for our team will make people more demanding rather than blindly following them and hope to see fresh blood in our team, at least before our next chance of World Cup - 2011 and also hope that they influence me to join the fan club again!! Its all just HOPE! :-)
