CIOL Article on Owning a house in Bangalore!

Click on the link (above title) to read thru the article... My opinion goes on the same line as this article... Adding more to this, I can tell that by the end 0f the day, it is we, the middle class (real) Bangaloreans who suffer...Even though I am in IT industry I will say this... By god's grace, 2 years back, I bought a independent house in one of the good old locality of Bangalore...this was one of my dream, a dream to fulfill the dream of my parents! Now I pay 50% of my take-home pay towards the home loan!!! The time I purchased the house was the time when the landprices were rising day after day...to give a picture, when I bought, the landprice in my current locality was Rs.1300/- per sq.ft...now, after just 2 years, it is Rs. 3000~3500/- per sq. ft!! Now imagine, could my parents, hailing from a very much middle class family and having 2 children to take care afford to buy a house at this rate?? Am not boasting that I have bought but given the current scenario, there are lot of families like mine who cannot afford to buy...all coz of this damn north bound sky-high unrealastic land prices!!

Kalale after 7 years and Unbelievable Bangalore-Mysore Highway!

This weekend was an awesome one...everything went fine as planned! After a long 6-7 years, i visited my dad's village 'Kalale', around 4 kms from the Nanjangud town, which in turn is 25kms from Mysore city. It is the time of the 10-day festival / Jatra in the village and saturday, 18th March 2006 was the day for the grand Kalale Rathothsava / Kalale Ther!!! Me and my cousin-bro started off from Bangalore on friday evening @ 1745hrs in his car...We took the banagalore-mysore highway, the new 4-lane road with a 2mtr divider in between the road making it one-way on either side! Recap of 2010 & the Fresh 2011...

Happy New Year 2011 and Happy Sankranti, Pongal to all!! Hope we all have a rocking and exiting 2011 ahead... Having missed out of the blog scene, lot of things have passed in past year of 2010 which I would like to write... 2010 - what an year of ups and downs and ups :-) On the professional front, I changed the job from one US blue-chip major to another US blue-chip major & apparently both being strong rivals to one another...Am talking about my job change from Hewlett-Packard ( HP India ) to IBM India ! Both are great companies to work where both of them share a great history of innovation and culture. However once inside a company and totally involved in your job, all these will take a second priority and there comes your job&role as the first priority. A Unique Experience In My Life...

I will word this as my unique experience in my life because I had never undergone this stuff earlier in my 28 years of journey called Life and I never want this to happen again in my life...I dont want this to happen to any one else also... Feb 14th will be etched in my book of life for two unique reasons - one sad and one happy! The happy part is that my first car delivery happened on this day and I was very happy for myself and my family for getting a good car (at last!). The happiness is still continuing and will be there in future also...
