BA 'n' Galore!

Today, when i was standing in the bus stop, at 0715hrs, waiting for my company cab to pick me up, i saw a BA (British Airways) flight pass over my head (Oh! not really over my head but 20000feet above my head!)...I think this was a B-747 Jumbo, not sure...Anyways, it was good sight to see BA flight in Bangalore, also given today's blue clear sky and the morning cold along with the sun rays hitting the skin! :)
After sometime, while i was commuting, i was thinking about the connection between these two cities, made possible by BA...London and Bangalore, two old and amazing cities by itself...But when it comes to infrastructure issues and when it comes to the 'service' provided (by the Airport staff, by the Auto, Taxis outside), how different these two cities are...Ask any London-ite who just landed in this flight and came out of the airport and s/he will tell you how pathetic the stuff here is...Already, a 'pathetic' kind of impression would have been built...Why? Here i will tell u...
The flight lands and comes to the gate and once you are out of the bird, you walk up to the Immigration counter(s)...Here, even though there is a provision for around 10 counters, one can see hardly 4-5 counters open and hence resulting in a big queue...Its not that abroad, all counters are open but the number of counters open will be huge compared to the number of people coming in! Once done, you have to walk towards the elevator that carries you down to the Luggage hall cum Customs clearance. Here, the arrangement is so bad that, post the elevator, just after 2 steps is a door and just after this is the No.1 and only one X-ray machine!! So eventually, a queue builds up in front of the X-ray machine/door and it goes to the elevator...the worst part here is u cannot stop the elevator and hence one should wait at the top of the elevator for the queue down to move!
After taking part in this circus, you go to collect the check-in baggage dumped on the one and only roller available in Bangalore! Luckily, if yours is the only international flight landed, you are saved else if there are say 2 flights, then its a looooooong wait here because both the flights luggage will be dumped on this single roller and god knows, when yours will come...One can build up lot of patience here, waiting for the luggage :)Now, the last part is take your luggage and go the highly corrupt customs who will be looking for any single small 'foriegn' item to hop on you and extract money like anything...Money NOT in terms of rupees but in terms of various other currencies, topping all will be USD!! I think these people would have seen and have all nations currencies with them! :)
So, take a deep breath and relax...now, you are out of this *shit* mess and you are out of this so-called Airport! But, its time for Autos and Taxis to pull you so that they can offer you there service, by taxing you as much as you can!!! This is the biggest of all mess...you can even bargain like anything to reach your destination here...So, pathetic...
Now, given all this, i hope the London-ite would be here to see more and more of the city and NOT go back to the BA ticket counter and BUY a ticket back to home!
Welcome to BA-n-Galore!
