Weekend started in Traffic Jam!

Yesterday was a longest day, in terms of the ‘journey’ from my office to my home. I and my fellow friends started off to home by taking the 1745hrs cab. Normally, it takes 1.5hrs to 2hrs to reach my home, depending on the traffic. But yesterday was a different one! We (all cab travelers) got struck in a huge traffic jam, on the Outer Ring Road (Opp to Intel office), which we got to know on reaching that the jam has been in place from almost an hour! Since we did not have any options of turning back (or taking a U-turn to enter the other side of the road), our vehicle was also added to the jam. We stayed on in that jam spot, with no vehicular movement at all, for about a 1hr+…In between, me and my friend went out for ‘a walk’ in between that stranded traffic and went to a local juice shop over there, to buy a bottle of Juice and some chocolates for our (all cab members) stomach! This gave us some relief…J Luckily after a long time (after 1.5hrs of we standing there), some policemen reached the spot and started clearing the traffic…I mean DIVERTING the traffic!! So, without any other alternative to do, we took back the road we came, after cutting a U-turn and then we entered the Airport Road. This is one of the busiest roads in Bangalore and obviously traffic jams are everywhere in this long road. But since this jam was due to traffic signals, it was clearing up and hence we took this road, and then took the Inner Ring Road, came to Koramangala (Forum mall road), took a left below the Flyover to enter Bannerghatta road and then joined our daily road (near Jayanagar East End)… At last! J When I reached home, it was 2205hrs, an awesome 4.25hrs journey!!! The reason for that massive jam was attributed to an accident involving a Truck and a 2 Wheeler, followed by crowd of people who blocked the road, demanding a traffic signal at that junction (Bellandur)! So, just to avoid one single road and that too a single stretch of around 1km, we had to travel an additional 20kms to join back the usual route! This is Bangalore buddy… Good that there was no Ambulance struck in this traffic pile-up otherwise that patient in the Ambulance would have his/her worst of all the lucks around!

Hitchhiker's guide has this to say (amended slightly!)

Consider a road from point A to point B. Now consider a point C in between which wonders - "Whats so special about point B that everyone from point A wants to go there? And whats so special about point A that everyone from point B wants to go there? I just wish everyone would make up their minds where they want to be and stay there once and for all!"
